What can I NOT use Durafix on?
Do not use Durafix Easyweld on Magnesium. {To test for Magnesium shave a small piece of metal and apply the flame. If it burns white, then it is Magnesium}.
Do not use on Pewter or Tin as they will melt before the working temperature is reached.
The rods will not work on Stainless Steel or any other type Steel (except galvanised).
Durafix does not adhere to 2000 grade aluminium. While this is not a very common grade in general use, it shouldn't pose a problem for most users, however there is occasion that you will come across this grade. Unfortunately it shares many characterisitics with stainless steel and will not allow the weld to bond correctly.
