How do I weld or repair with Durafix Easyweld?
This rod will work with propane, propylene, mapp, butane, oxyacetylene or any open-flame fuel source as long as the material is brought up to 732`F (380°C)
The material must be cleaned with a stainless steel brush; this will remove any unwanted particles from the repair/weld area. The rod will not adhere to the material being repaired if it is cleaned with steel brush.
Please do not heat the rod like a normal brazing rod - it will not work if heated directly. You must heat the material that you are working on and then apply the rod.
Hold your torch approximately 2 inches from the surface and fan over the are to be welded. Rub the end of a rod onto the metal surface. Once the working temperature is reached, the rod will flow like solder.
Once completed and cooled, it can be ground and polished to a fine finish. Always let the welded/repaired piece cool naturally, at room temperature - DO NOT use water or acid baths to cool.
